Dave started a band in his basement in 1976 that would later become The Merry Pranksters. Ed and R.D. were there ,but what became of the other members? They split in 1979 to form a tribute to Lobo band. They still tour the U.S. and parts of Alabama. As for Dave's first agent that said his band would play corner bars forever; HAH, who's laughing now?
HAH indeed.
Any resemblence to Dusty Hill is coincidental.
The Pranksters first heard Rick, when he was the concussionist with the The Trustees of Modern Chemistry.
Although he lost all feeling in his hands in 2002, he still manages to bake a wonderful loaf of bread.
Because he is by far the youngest band member, they often have to explain to him just who Joey Bishop was, and what telegrams were.
Editor's note: The sign above his head is a coincidence.
Because of Bob's ability and track record, the band tried to really "step up " their game a bit, when he joined the Sunday night lineup. After all , he's played with Leon Russell on Leterman for cryin' out loud!
He's also a veteran of the house band for the Barnstable-Brown Derby Eve Gala. He's backed up legends from George Strait to Stevie Nicks to Kid Rock.
That's right, THE Kid Rock.
Bob says, "Celebrities are just like me and you, only nicer and more appreciative of the little things in life." Or something like that.
He's also played more games at Louisville Slugger Field than anyone.
When Barry joined the Sunday night lineup, Prankster sphincters were at an all time tight. He was Jimi Hendrix's replacement in The Band of Gypsys!(see editor's note).
He also played Carnegie Hall with The Charlie Daniel's Band.
As it turned out, this was Barry's last gig with the cowboy hat wearin', fast fiddlin' good ole boy from Tennessee.
I guess he figured Charlie's career was going nowhere, and how else could he hook up with the Pranksters someday if he was tied down to making all that money.
editor's note: Barry did a recording with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles, close enough to making him a Gypsy.
