Hey Heidi its good to hear from one of our many "alumni". A lot of changes have gone on with the band in the past 3 years.....Tom, RD and Ed have gone out to do what they want with their own group and I have the rest of the guys in the studio for the next few months recording our album.There wont be an official Merry Pranksters gig again till sometime in October. I hope you keep visiting the site to keep up with us. MP3's of our new tunes will be popping up on here in the next few months. Hope all is well for you and yours.

Dave, hope you are doing ok. Having Type I diabetes I know the struggles this decease can cause. I just want you to know that some of my fondest memories that I can remember from my 20's are spending Sunday nights with the Pranksters at Gacomo's (not a very good speller).  You only know me when I show up and tell you Im a friend of Betsy Carrol's. I will try to come see your acustic show some night. Hang in there and take care of yourself, listen to your doc. Peace and Love

Hey Bro Man,

You still over there in France with the Coneheads?? Have ur furry lil fingers become too fat for the computer keys? Anyway I have a question you will prolly know the answer to.......is the act of being a street musician called "busking" or "buskering"? I need to know cuz I will be doing that on Baxter Ave. somewhere between Lonnies Best Taste Of Chicago (bang bang) and Wild and Wooly Video on Derby Eve. I just cant pass up oogling all those tourista yaps while legally fleecing them of some of their pocket change. At least I wont be picking pockets at the track. Wish me luck...Rudi has got to eat you know.

This is no afront to Dead fans or the song, but I had to play "Shakedown Street" approximately 2000 times during the life of the Pranksters. A few weeks ago upon playing it for the last time I developed an warm internal glow and at the end of it confided to Ricky with glee..." I never have to play that ******* song again as long as I live" at which point I skipped merrily out of the bar. I often (or at least once) told RD that I would rather have my teeth pulled than to play that song....well, I just had 3 teeth pulled and you know what? I WAS RIGHT!

Best of luck to the former Pranksters on their endevours, but aside from having no money and being evicted from my former home I am thouroughly enjoying NOT playing right now.

Well Dave wish you the best with your foot etc. My very good Friend who has passed"Syd"..Steve.  Had toe amputations and am very aware of the problems with that.Hope to get ot of indiana soon to see all the variations of the people who have played ,and you to !
