Happy Birthday Cletus!:)
Maybe someday we will be important enough to have Karen take our pics...........
OK i had fun with writing my set, and since no set i have ever written for anything has ever been used in this band i dont care what we play really........but i am adamant about ending with the Abbey Road Medley....it is our best piece of music and to not do it in front of that crowd, well, is just stupid. Weather will be good for the festival on monday. I hope we actually remember some of our Beatles songs for the Longshot gigs this weekend,,,,,,,,it is just a shame how AROTR has treated us like a red-headed stepchild these past 3 years since we kicked the crowds' ass at the first one. I dont pretend to understand but be aware i am EXTREMELY disappointed with our "approach" to the show....not letting us do Beatles just took our soul, and i'll be damned if we are not gonna at least do the Abbey Road Medley. Whoever writes the sets just please keep in mind the strongest songs we can do, relative to everyones solos and the total effect on a big crowd.......we shouldnt be playing milk-toast tunes just cuz they are 60's tune and will apparently appease Gary Jacob
We should also be playing Qdoba, Dark star, and R Place on a semi- regular basis...our thin playing schedule was nearly responsible for us not being able to pay our property taxes and we almost lost our house of the last 46 years.
We have one of the finest bands around now.................lets ACT like it please

Greg Martin's band "Rufus Huff" is coming to Kentucky. I emailed Greg about his gig. He asked if the Pranksters would be interested in doing a gig together in Louisville. I responded with a very positive yes. I can't think of any reason why we would not do one except maybe a scheduling confict. We don't have any date set up. He mentioned the Rudyard Kipling. I think he played there with Steve Ferguson recently. Anyway, please let me know what you guys say to this.
There's no place like home. Great to see you all! Much Love and happiness till we meet again. hitchhiking the galaxy is fun.
hey there all you fine furry freaks....and a special extra "Howdy" to Chick...wazzup my bro? now do you go from snow and 20 below to humidity and outdoor insects big enough to saddle up and ride away on?. I hope you and all involved are doing well.
I saw WILCO sat. night at the Koka Booth Ampitheatre in Rleigh....first time I have evev seen these folks live. I have recordings ...buit they are with Jay Farrarr(sp?) or Billy Bragg...I reallly like these dudes ballads......but these folks just rocked the place...and not screaming lguitar leads.....they had some but they were short and tasty...but just ExtraChunky blues/rock..It was a great evening for an outdoor show.
Next Sat. Night local guitarslingers(this is only a 3 piece group) and local heros Southern Culture On The Skids play at the Cat's Cradle.
(we just call 'um S.C.O.T.S.) so that is always a good show.
I saw Mayor Jerry on The News and Sat I heard on NPR that GE is getting out of the appliance bizz...so I know that is a major hit for those employed there....I do luv Louisville.....but I have to asmit that I do not miss KY style politics.....Louisville should be a boomtown...it has much to offer....but when you go to base the economy on the service industry......just not great forward thinking.on the cty/states behalf.
Any F.U.z in this comm is b-cuz I have left my readers at home and I have to ggo git um on lunch break.
Keep on Rockin' in the Free World! GJL

Man....what a bummer of a pre=spring....Monica and I are so glad the sun has finally found the back deck...I am once more working on becoming brown as a berry. Also working on a group up here that may or may not pan out...I want to call it Cletus and the Grits....just like my book, which by the way is almost a quarter finished after only working on it for 30 years. Lost Maverick....the original great hulkin black beast from the east...to snout cancer a couple months ago. He is greatly missed. In the aftermath we found Norton....yes RD, I call him like Ralph called Ed out the window...most people these days have no idea about that...what a shame. Monica has forbidden me to take him to the Vestal Inn for beer drinkin and pool shootin, however I am still workin on her to take him with us to KY this fall....Tom, I believe you n Nettie n the girls will be gettin wet with him at the falls...was just sitting here in the middle of the night with tears flowin down my cheeks (no pun intended) and missing the rest of my family...no one will ever know how much I love and miss you all...well...maybe Monica
i am e mailing gary jacob to ask if it is ok if we play an hour......we are the second to last band in the whole festival and they stick us way at the end and dont let us do our beatles show i figure i can get ten minutes out of him......othewise we just drop samson and delilah
Wiz
Hmmmmmm..do you guys think you could do "Father O'Blivion" FZ
RD You have one hardcore Simpsons collection.
But do you have any Cleatus Spuckler and Brandine and the kids. They have got to be some of my faves on that show.
By the way did you know that Alvarez Guitars went out of business. they were bought out and is currently selling off any of its 2007 models of guitars. I bring this up because I know for me (and perhaps some of you) Have owned Alvarez or Alvarez/Yari guitars know that these were some pretty fine mid-priced very playable guitars. So if ya got one hang on to it.
I saw a 57 Les Paul...with no serial numbers...gold top and trapeze tailpiece...went off for an insurance value of 25 thousand bux..on antiques roadshow....the owner said "The finish on the top was cracked.....I was gonna refinish it" GJL
I guess Abbey Rude on Da River is this weekend. Sounds like fun. Does the Ole' Bluegrass Festival thing still happen? One the the best series of shows ever. So now if I had thought about RD.z country- fried hairstyle/coffure....it would not have been described as "ten pounds of hot-buttered yaks wool"....I would have kept it in the family and described it as..."ten pounds of hot-buttered alpaca wool...here are some other famous organized crime members.. Al Paca, Al Dente', Al Fine', Ds."Al" Coda, Al A. Bama, Al Fresco, Al Timeter, Al Pine, Al Titude, Al A. Mode, Al A. Carbonara, Al Lewis (Grandpa on "The Munsters") Al Sherman (Hello Mudda-Hello Fadda) Whooo. Now you do some. Now look I have pitched this out there a couple of times....Who does the song "Please Mr. Custer.....I dont wanna go.....FORWARD HO!Spiltfingggggyyy(arrow through air..) The gauntlet has been laid down....basically cuz I remember it from when I was a kid..and I cant remember the artist(artist?/comedy?)GJL

Hey
Cheeks, are you sure? I mean, order...?
If you're talking about pix in a folder, just number them like this
01_pic_title
02_pic_title
etc, etc...
that should do the trick, & if everything works right, the numbers shouldn't show up in the title.
Sorry I've been such a lousy correspondant the past couple of weeks - I've had a lot od stuff going on
A+
