Hey Chico and RD...Chico thanx and RD just wow and off the hook bro.....Some Really great stuff. I am a stone-cold Simpsons addict......They show an hours worth every evening at 6pm....and onef my top loved characters are Cleatus and Brandine Spuckler....Brandine..that indoor plumbing at the womens prison dun spolit chyou. Perhap they live in Monkey's Eyebrow, KY.

Uh folks.....I am really going through Derby-Envy here.......I just love Derby....try to explain it to people that have never been to the race or been in town Derby week and they just dont get it. And the Derby parties....and I am not talking about the high-brow rich people... I have been shown more true hospitality at Derby time in Louisville than anywhere I have lived. When I was living in Maine doing my post-grad work......jeez dont look for hospitality there....and there is nothing less sexy than a woman with a Maine accent....kinda sounds like you are dating a pirate...She can be a beauty...but once the mouth opens it becomes severe. and here in North Carolina....well I really dont know much about rural NC....but most of these folks are that old style still hanging on to antebellum stuck on themselves old south crap....I guess I mean to say it seems very put on...not the relaxed and friendly style you get in The Ville'.

I will tell you. I went through forced bussing...it sucked....lived through the winter of 77...it sucked...louisville and jcpolice suck.....but without being too much of a softy...I will always want to be in Louisville this time of year.....This is a line I stole froma Tom Waits song and put in some new words....A bottle and my friends and my round' Churchill downs on Old Third Street.....Louisville.....I'll be there....................GJL

Dear Sirs:

After conducting extensive research, I fear that I was unable to find the "Derby Skunkweed Jubilee" listed as a Derby event, either official or un-official.

If there is, in fact, such an event, would you be so kind as to supply the particulars (time, venue, etc)?

I fear that you may have been the target of a rather base canard.

Sincerely

A Concerned Louisvillian

With all due respect....DO NOT TURN IT DOWN! Instead get a pair of ear baffles. I bought a real nice pair made by Rockwell (same folks as the powertools) that were for long term-wear in high db enclosures. Used them when I ran sound (after soundcheck) and took them to concerts and wore um' when I was up near the speakers. It was the best 30.00 I  ever spent on my ears.

I really have to confess my fondness for T.V.theme music and Movie Soundtracks. Those tv themes from the sixities...some great ditties

One of my first music memories was the theme "Palladin" from the Show "Have Gun, Will Travel".....you know the obvious ones...Quincy Jones and the really great theme from "Sanford and Son"....and you have the really terrible ones that turn into BrainWorms and just drill your subconcious..

But I really like the late Hugo Montenegro.film/tv.....Known Best for his score for the film "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly", The tv theme to "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" and "I Dream of Jeannie"....you gotta admit the score to "The GBU" is just killer stuff. GJL

Could not load RDz FCD. error 404 file not found. I alway liked to look in Guitar Emporium. Always some really great guitars and those really hard-to-find Mr. Potato head models. I saw a HipShot lap steel. A Vinnie Bell signature Coral electric sitar. Lots of Tiescos and Delrays and Supros. A few SilverTones( I know of RDz axe....mine is gun metal gray with a lipstick p/u) Even fewer true DanElectros (lots o' copies)A Telecaster set-up with a true Parsons/Green B-bender set-up. I have told my friends....IF....I ever hit the Lotto.....I would feed my need for ripping 1960's horsepower and have a large cedar plank lined room filled to the freaking brim with bizarre guitars. Oh by the way...The name of Leslie Wests current release...Guitarded..nuf' sed. GJL

Last night on "Antiques Roadshow" (always wanted to write a send up and send it to SNL...." Antique Roadies Show " With a bunch of road hardend old rock roadies telling horror stories for big yucks)`

I digress.....AR was from Louisville last night and I really have to tell you I thought that there would be many musical instruments...but there was one.....Rickenbacker Model 331....known as "The Light Show Guitar" sold only in 1971.... flashes yellow on treble strings....red on mid range....blue on bass strings......insured for  Twenty-thousand dollars....I wonder how many nice axes
