Hey,
Guy, I think that either you have a firewall problem, or an incorrect version of FlashPlayer installed (you need Flash 8). I'm more inclined to thinkfirewall, since the chat sends cookies that might or might not be accepted; that would account for the white screen - no data flow... can you try from another box somewhere & let me know if you still have the same problem
thanx

Randy...I am on a microsoft 2000 platform.....when I try to go into Elephant chat I go to page www.momenlivre.com/forum/chat/flashchat.php and All I get is a white screen. Am I gigo here or do I have somekind of wierd firewall problem of my own (For the employees there is a firewall and your work can be observed) Anyway it is bright and sunny and 73 degrees here 2day. I have been here for almost 8 years now.......and last night I was finally invited to do an open stage That take place here at A pub named "The Drunken Mule"((Equus Caballus X (Asinus defunctus))). This is one thing I miss about Louisvile (well not the only thing) Is the availability of open stages. It is really just a fun thing to do with a bunch of other like-minded folks...not any more than that and it lets me get my jollies. I hope all is well.....any good shows coming to Louisville.......MMJ did one of the late-night show here recently. Se Y'all later GJl

works now - you WERE close, so close, the path was perfect; but remember - GIGO ;o)
if you don't get your filename right, the browser won't know what to look for ... for example SCALES8.GIF is NOT the same as scales8.gif (but it is what you entered as a filename...

Guy, Make sure you tell Mike he's in the opening of the video.
Hey Sir Webslinger...tried to get in the Elephant room but I could not get a full download......
OK, a little geekspeek
when you're linking to something you've got 2 ways to go; either an absolute URL, or a relative url.
Absolute urls always start with http, like this:
http://www.momenlivre.com/pranksters/uploadDir/ricky3.gif
When your browser tries to find the url it won't start on your site it will start with the entire web (www) to the domain (momenlivre.com/) to the directory (pranksters/) to the sub-directory(uploadDir/) and finally to the file (ricky3.gif). Those / tell the browser to go to the next sub-level down.
Now with relative links (like I showed you below) the browser starts at the level it's already in, so you don't even have to mention it, and goes down from there to the sub-directory(uploadDir/) and finally to the file (ricky3.gif).
does any of that make any sense?

oh well...sorry if I get kinda social in here sometimes....I try to keep the speak about music...but you know I am full o' the devil.....so I will subvert the dominant paradigm sometimes....thats just The Guymeister. I really have to tell you folks....the track to the video is pretty good listener-wise...all of the instruments are clear and at good level and the really is no small feat live. Thanx for Mikes E-mail Tom...that was really bonus. Mike Standifer is one stand-up dude. The Guymeister
Hey,
the url you entered for your pic was
pranksters/uploadDir/ricky3.gif
it should have been
uploadDir/ricky3.gif
See? No pranksters!
If you see the login window for the chat, it probably means you're not logged in on the site; if you log in first (from any of the login links that lead to the forum login on any page ) & then click on the chat link, it should take you directly to the chatroom without the little login box popping up. If you mean you've lost your login & password, you should just register again - it's automatic & you don't need a (real) email address...

Hey Cheeks,
Just a word of advice: when you're trying to link to something don't put pranksters in front of the directory name. For example:
pranksters/images/mypix.jpg
should be just
images/mypix.jpg).
That's because when the browser goes looking for your file, it's going to start looking on the level it's already at, & then try to drill down to your file from there.
So when you add the pranksters in front, what the browser is ACTUALLY looking for is
pranksters/pranksters/images/mypix.jpg
which doesn't exist.
OK?
