Now is a good time to put aside the differences between the former members of the Pranksters and myself for the moment and join them in celebrating something way more important. Love. Dave Young and the Louisville Merry Pranksters would like to wish endless joy and the best of lifetimes together to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ennis, wed Saturday Aug 14, 2010. They are truly quality people and two of my very best friends. Rick is actually the only person in the past 20 years to pay attention to me....without me having to raise a ruckus first. Bob and Barry and myself are looking forward to having him work with us on our endeavor "Another Night on Planet Earth" which we are presently recording at Barry's "Come ontime goddamit" studio in Mt. Washington Ky. A five-song advance EP from the record will be made available for radio airplay sometime around Thanksgiving. Keep checking in on us from time to time. Thanks.
Peace and Love,

Tim is gone. There is no hope, no denial, no recovery.....he's just gone. I had to open this tribute by saying that because I still cant believe i will never hear his voice again. My admiration for Tim is not unique, there are so many of us that have been touched by him. In my teens I was sneaking into Dutch's Tavern in St. Matthews to catch Tim's band Dusty. After that time i heard tell of him becoming big in Europe, where folks in some countries would shout "Tim Krekel Tim Krekel" when they spotted him on the street. I seem to remember a stint he did with Billy Swan(although im not sure of that). In 1977 I excitedly watched him burn up the stage with Jimmy Buffet's Coral Reefer Band at Freedom Hall. In 1980's movie "FM" there was a concert shot of him burning a lead on "Livingston Saturday Night". He first jammed with our band sometime in the 80's at the Flashback(the old Uncle Pleasants). I was frigging beside myself. In the late 90's he shared Thursday nights with us at the old Maier's Tavern. His performances on World Cafe and Mountain Stage made me envious. Seeing how he did things with such expressive ease, well, it was amazing. He helped drive me to want to succeed as a songwriter like he did. And when i had my bouts with diabetes and my friend Janet Wolfe pursued a list of dream artists that I desired to play the very first TOEJAM benefit....Tim was the first to step up and say yes. During that show i got to do a songwriters circle with Tim and danny flanigan. Tim appeared at two other TOEJAMS always offering his services with that broad smile. The last one it crossed my mind he looked a bit peaked and tired....but he TORE UP the stage! I only knew months later he was already dying of cancer. It was a huge thrill for me to present him several hundred dollars from our last TOEJAM for his recovery fund. But alas, as often happens, there was no recovery. We had chosen two of his songs to record on our next album with his blessing...."Underground"and that american anthem...."All Night Radio". Sadly thru various band hold ups we were unable to have it finished for him to even hear the scratch tracks, and i will regret that till my end has come upon me. But i swear on Tim's spirit that it will be finished soon and on WFPK because i loved this man....this humble man who became my friend. And i am a better man for having known him. Now Rock and Roll heaven has its finest songwriter.........and as Tim wrote and sang many times...............EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE ALLRIGHT. Rest in Peace my brother. We will all jam harder knowing you are watching over us all now.
